Hi, I have a 06 IS250 and having a HID kit in a halogen projector sucks. There is uneven spread of light which I tried so many times to adjust and fix. Plus its not really that bright. So I was wondering since I don't have AFS and was to replace my headlights with the HID headlights (AFS) equipped, will it work? I just leave the wire for the AFS unplugged right?
Here is what I am talking about. Notice the dip on the driver side. I tried so many times to adjust, it doesn't do anything, took the bulbs out to reposition it and see if it sat right in the housing countless times.
I have McColluch's for both headlights and foglights. I've tried everything it's still like that. I was wondering the same too shaolin, but I see other people's cutoff and it doesn't look like that.
If you do a search, this has been talked about numerous times. It appears that Lexus/Toyota made the projectors this way to not blind oncoming traffic.
I think ALL head lamps are created that way so you do not blind on-coming traffic and to light up the signs on the right side of the road, where most signs are located. If you look at the output for any other cars, it's pretty much the same.
It seems like your cutoff isn't like how mine is. There's no dip on yours. It looks pretty nice and straight. Maybe its the kit that I have (McColluch), I should probably get another kit then?
