The evo is the only car i have ever been beat by in a race. I have raced most of that top 10. Mustangs never hang. I think the torque of the mustang throws everyone off. Like they feel fast because the torque. the is doesn't have much torque, but is quicker.

As i was choosing my lexus, vs. other cars( not a long or hard choice),these things crossed my mind.
1)lexus: buttery soft interior, "the persuit of perfection"

2)ford: fixed or repaired daily... dull designs.

3)pontiac: GM... made in the usa... enough said

4)subaru: Boulder, CO... birkenstock sandals... kumbaya


Remember Lexus' official designation for the IS is "Intelligent Sport sedan"... really!

We all m ade the intelligent choice.

If you cant tell why the Lexus is more luxurious than a mustang or EVO... I dont know what to tell you.

If you are asking why the Lexus is more luxious than an MB or BMW or G35... I dont understand why you would be asking that in this thread.

I guess you dont know much about DSMs. Here is some info on FPs turbos. Of course you need supporting fuel mods etc. But you wont have to do much engine work(just some ARP headstuds) to get an aweful lot of power. you may want a shatter shield for the tranny

Dyno and quarter mile performance was shown to be excellent at the opposite end of the spectrum in the well prepared test vehicles of David Buschur and Curt Brown. These two cars showed ¼ mile ET in the 10.50-10.90 second range with speed in the 127-129mph range. Dyno results from these test vehicles showed power to be in the 420-450whp range(compared to 245 for the stock EVO). Dyno graphs for these cars are also shown to demonstrate the full potential of the EVOGreen Model turbocharger.

The Red model, much like it's little Green brother, is a Mitsu/Garrett hybrid. The Red combines a modified TD06 compressor housing and 8cm2 turbine housing with a clipped TD06H turbine wheel and a big *** Garrett compressor wheel. Don't ask us what it is, we won't tell you.

The Red has proven to be a major contender among the ranks of the fastest DSMs in the world. Pruven Performance went 9.90 @ 142mph on an off the shelf Red turbo, Curt Brown has run a best of 9.87 @ 145.7 with his FPRed model turbocharger, and Dale Nardozzi has run 10.275 @ 132.75mph using an FPRed in his VR4 Galant! All these were WITHOUT NITROUS

Hmmm, I am not sure myself. For me, the first things that come to mind are

1) Quality of materials used
2) quality of craftsmanship
3) Cabin noise,
4) road handling(bumps etc)
5) Passenger/driver comfort


etc. I am pretty sure the G35 is considered lower in Lux than an IS, due to road noise and excessive rattling. That can be worked on but I think infiniti is happy to be the.... luxury "Bang for the Buck" leader.

The other two, I dont know if people consider them less luxurious than the IS.

I miss those days. I had a 99 GSX with an ETE32 turbo. 323 AWHP to the ground on race fuel at 24Psi(266@18PSI on Pump). If my 3000 dies... perhaps another GSX will replace it.
