hp per pound >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> hp/L if you ask me-
I dont care what the Z06 hp/L is- its faster stock then any 99.9999999999% of the cars on the market-

15K in mods... with stock turbo? YOUCH.. thats why you do the labor yourself. Except for tuning, and maybe clutch changes.
How much did you spend on parts vs labor.
What I dont understand is... whats the big deal about stock turbo? Why not have gone at least with a 20G or the FP Green? A lot easier to get more HP. I never understood the big concern about Lag. I never even noticed it.

Nvalenti20, no one here is claiming the Z06 makes more power per liter. We're talking about which one is faster. Even in the links that were posted, those EVO's were running trap speeds 10mph slower than a completely stock Z06, that is a huge difference.

Hmmmmm.. Evo or ZO6..............Evo, ZO6......Evo, ZO6...........I dont' care if it is 70k I know which one I'd rather have and be seen in. It's a no-brainer!

I'm not saying the EVO is a suerior car than a Z06, because its far from it, like someone said earlier in the thread, its like comparing apples and oranges...the Z06 is basically a supercar under $200k, the EVO obviously is not. *****, of course I would rather have a Z06 than an EVO...but that's something that just isn't feasible for me at this time, or for most people for that matter...$70k should be going toward a house right now, not a car but I plan on getting one or something close to it in the future
I was just stating some facts on the EVO, not bashing the Z06...in other wods, just giving credit where credit is due...the 4G63 has proven it time and time again. If you wanna see for yourself check out evolutionm.net, some serious cars making over 600awhp as daily drivers with a/c, pwr steering, 50lbs worth of stereo equpment etc.
Yea, I spent $15k in mods and labor, prolly spent about $11-12k in parts and the rest in labor....a lot of it was installed by me or for free...Turbotrix tuned the car perfect....let me tell you, after installing the AEM the car was completely different, I had to re-learn driving it, it was a whole new animal. I have no regrets with that car....was fun as hell. But at that time or right now, I obviously would have chosen a C6 Z06, even a C5 Z06 over it if I had the money. And yes. $15k is a lot to spend on a $30k car, but like I said, I have no regrets...I would do it all over again, was fun as hell![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Well as far as why people like to brag about making a certain amount of power on the stock turbo is basically for bragging rights. For example "I made 420awhp on the stock turbo before I upgraded" The stock turbo on a 03+ EVO is about the same as a big 16g....good for over 400awhp, close to 500hp at the crank which is impressive...upgrading the turbo on an EVO is about the most expensive mod you can do on the EVO, a respectable kit goes for over $3500 not including all the fuel and supporting mods that are needed to make the power economic. And if you want my opinion? lag is overrated, if you have lag, your in the wrong gear![Wink](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Bottom line is any car can be faster than any other car, what it comes down to is how much money your willing to spend. I can drop a cammed LS1 into a yugo and have it go down the 1/4 mile and trap 117mph and have a 98 camaro SS with a cam as well go down the 1/4 mile and trap 10mph less. Its horsepower/lb and aerodynamics thats going to let you trap a higher trap speed. If an Evo is making the same hp per pound at the wheels as a C6 Z06 then chances are the Z06 will trap higher due to aeordynamics.... but a little more hp for the EVO would make it even or faster. What I'm saying no car is distinctly faster than the other when comparing mods and hp if they are dead even in those categories....its whp/lb and aerodynamics is what it comes down to. But stock for stock, the C6 Z06 can't be touched, period.

Most people making 350+ AWHP to the ground on stock turbo, probably already have all the other supporting Fuel mods.
You can get an FP green(which is a Nice 20G) for less than $1500 with core, or you can get an EVO8/9 turbo rebuilt into a FP green for $1K. Really, the turbo upgrade isnt expensive... if you already have the other mods(fuel, IC, exhaust)
Well anyway, I wasnt disrespecting the C6 either. If you read my first post, I said the guy in a carerra wouldnt be envious of a faster EVO.
The point of my post was that power can be had for cheap, if thats all you want. Somehow it morphed into a debate between the Z06 and the EVO.

I hear you about the C6 as well, I didn't want anyone to think I was disrespecting the C6 as well as you read in my previous posts.....both cars are good at what they do in they're own ways...Obviously the Z06 edges the EVO out substantially but I also think you gotta give credit due where its due. Maybe its because I was a previous EVO owner I got a little more into it than someone who never owned an EVO would but I guess thats what you get when your a true car enthusiast as all of us are.
