Question Tool For Removal Of Engine Cover Tabs?

Hi,

Just wanted to know if there is a tool to remove the tabs that hold in the plastic engine covers (I am not taking about the one in the middle of the engine). I tried to pull them off with my finger nails and pulling up, but it doesnt seem like the right way to do it . Please tell me if there is a tool or proper procedure on how to remove them.

Thanks,
Danny

push the little center of the tabs in with a pic or small screwrdriver then remove the tabs. its as easy as that.

It's in the manual, but you can do it with your fingers. Push down the center, and I gently lift the engine covers so they don't go flying rather then try to take them out. To put them back in, press the tabs down on a solid counter or something so it pops up through.

It's just two three cylinder engines with a common crank. They splayed the banks at 60 degrees to provide good primary balance. Otherwise it's just another way to suck, squeeze, bang, and blow.

I should have read the book first..I figured out the removal on my own...but broke two putting them back in (didn't pop it up all the way). Oh well..off to the dealer for a few filters ..so I can get new ones then.

Don't be shocked by the price. Don't AMHIK. I will say they are easy to crush if you accidentally step on them.

SOLO_STAGE - You may want to try stand up comedy....NOT!

Don't try to make a person feel stupid for asking a question. That is what this forum is about!
