Default Window Tint

Hey guys I have a quick questions on window tine. I have an appointment at 1 to install some tine on my Starfire Pearl IS350. It has Nav, bluetooth, Xm,..

The tint is 3M, will this affect anything?

I asked and the tint shop said no, but I just want to make sure I wont lose any functions.. or get poor reception on anything

The one thing it will affect would be if you had a TV antenna installed on one of your windshields. Having tint will lose reception on the TV antenna. But, I dont think you have a TV so you're fine.

Private shop... Ill make sure and ask again if anything will be affected.

I've also read on damage to the plastic on the front windows, so I'll bu sure to advise them of it.

I have had 3M Lumar and ceramic tint on past vehicles, both with and withtout Navi, and no problems to report.

Where are you going to get your tint done? How much is it?

I want to tint my IS sometime next week and still researching where to get it done at and the price.

Go to Sunshield in Sherman Oaks (At the 101 and Sepulveda Blvd) I paid $160 last fall for my new IS350 and they did a GREAT job in 2 hours. (I had my last 3 cars done there too) I have NAV and there is no need to get the expensive ceramic tint (Some say plain tint interrupts the signal) unless your main reason to get tint is to keep the car cool because it is parked outside 24/7.

the only thing it might affect is the am reception in rural areas, besides that you should not have any problems with reception

I got 3M tint, I forgot the % already though. I know its the darkest on all the rear windows (5%?) and I think 50% on the fronts. The fronts are the second to lightest tint. Dropped the car off at 1PM and got it at 5PM. The guy said IS' are hard to to tint. I paid $200 for everything. Lifetime warranty.

Here are some of everybody's favorites!.. Pictures!

I've held off washing my car today because its suppose to rain, but so far it hasn't.

But then its suppose to rain tomorrow too!

Thumbs up Tint Pics

Since my car is black/black, I went 35% on the back and 50% around to make it look consistent.

Nice tint job DeviousOne!

Thanks, yours is looking good too. I was limited to what tint I could use on the fronts, but I still like it.

What you mean you were limited on what you can tint in the front?? The shop wouldn't tint it darker???

If not then you should of went somewhere else.
