Im new to this forum and I like it a looot. Purchase is250 2007 with X-package and Nav 1 month ago. Recently, when i drive on a not very smooth
road, i start to hear some creaking sound, I believe this come from the dashboard and this really irritated me. Should I take to dealer or not? I know
this happens to some guys, when they take to dealer, they can't reproduce
the problem, so they will not fix. So what do i do with it? Help please, it freaks me out. Car has 1800 miles and i am very decent driver.

Squeaks and Rattles happen. Take it to the dealer, be as descriptive as possible (replicate it if you can), and let them see what they can do.

 

Do you have nav?

My point is more that there's no need to freak out, but it is an annoyance, so take it to the dealer if its bothering you.

I have the same problem with my 1 months old 250. I took it back to the dealership on one of the saturday and shown this to one of the guy there. He said he can hear it and will talk to the technician. But later after that weekend the teachnician said he can't deplicate the problem and even the guy that i talked to can't find the same creaking sound again. So i just took the car home. But later on that night, the sound came back again.

I haven't bring it back to dealership again. but probably will do that in the next 2 weeks. One thing that i found the noise is came from the dash right behind your steeling wheel. You can give a little push on the dash when you are driving, and the sound will become more obvious. Show this to your dealership.

i was getting that the first day i got my car. i attributed it to the cold weather, but the creaking never really went fully away. i started to play around with the dash, and was able to duplicate the squeak i was hearing to the 2 screws directly under the dash above the guages. I was able to tighten the 2 screws and the creaks went away. this might be something simple that you've already checked, but you never know! I think i still hear a creak or two more towards the front of the dash near the windshield, but it doesnt really bother me. I only have 400 miles on the car, but i hope within a few hundred more things settle in and stop creaking.

 

mine pops and snaps all the way home. in the winter its warming up and expanding, in the summer with the a/c its cooling and contracting. with the radio on it doesn't bother me.

 

I get a lot of creaking in the summer when i get in the car and it starts to cool down. Especially with the strong socal sun. It's not a huge deal to me... most of the year it doesn't creak much at all.

 

it happens to me when its really cold outside. but then it goes away when the car warms up. hope this helps.

 

I have a single crack noise that occurs about once every half hour of driving. Sometimes it can be loud; and sounds like its coming from the center of the dash. This is no rattle, and not due to cold weather or a bumpy road. I reported it to my dealer and they're gonna take it for a drive when my car goes in for its 10k service. Anyone else having this issue?

 

Do the dash rattles happen with Navi's only??
