Wow. I never have these kinds of problems. Ever. Not that they haven't done stupid stuff (and I immediately caught it,) but I've never had something this basic screwed up this bad. My condolences.

Default just a quick note

1) they are human
2) do you think they have their best techs doing a 10mile service
3) they admitted the problem to you. think how much guts it took to actually say the screwed up. They could have just rotated them back with out you knowing.

BTW, are you sure your measuring instruments were calibrated and accurate. Maybe you lost 1/2" and your GF was just being supportive . . .

That's true, at least they were honest in admitting their mistake. I bet they could get into all kinds of trouble if they lied about service done on my car though. I bet there are federal laws about that or something.

Default Tires

Diablo,

How are those continental Contiextreme contacts? Are they smooth on the highways and have good grip in the winter snow? I am considering getting them for my 2006 GS300 AWD with 18 inch rims. I had these extremecontacts on my SC430 4 years ago but I don't remember how they felt, but I am sure they were great. Let me know, thanks,

Dave

That dealer/tech is incredibly stoopid. They don't know their own cars very well, if they rotate tires on our IS's. A little scary if you ask me. What other things are they screwing up ??? This story is one more good reason to take my car to my Japanese Master mechanic, and no one else.

Keep all possible documents pertaining to this incident. If anything were to happen sometime in the future that is a result from their labor, at lease you have documents that will point it back to them.

I received the same thing from my stealership when they lied about rotating my tires at my 5K service. They said they were having problems witht the tech. The thing is, they made me wait two hours and waste time.

I had my muffler bearings installed backward once, and the technician had to use a brass magnet to remove them. That cracked the solid valve. I was informed he should have used a metric adjustable wrench instead, but I still had to pay for it because I drove past the unlimited mileage warranty.

Past warrenty or not, they should have either not charged or met you in the middle for their mishap.
