Default A coin holder would have been nice

i wish that there was apadded place for coins, or some sort of slot device to hold a few quarters.
i now i can place them in the ashtray or cup holder, but then they will rattle and make noise

Yes, I agree. On the other hand, what I did, and I think it turned out well, was that I bought a coin purse and placed it in the center console. I got used to it pretty quickly too.

I put them in the glovebox because the rattling bothered me.

You know, for a company that's supposed to pursue perfection, Lexus really blew it on this one. Most American cars have coin holders -- my Lincoln has one, and its great for toll roads, or even going through the drive-thru and you need a few coins for a taco and a drink. Isn't there some Japanese accessory that can replace the ashtray?

ditto.
my '01 TL had a padded coin holder where the ashtray would have been. in fact you could order an insert if you wanted an ashtray!

my wife is amazed that lexus even has an ashtray and lighter. acura has the power outlet.

i'm thinking of buying some sticky backed felt at home depot, and lining the ashtray.

Most people driving a LExus will have a Toll Tag... thus, don't use coins at the toll.

Whats that supposted to mean? I've driven regularily (as in 20x per year maybe) over a toll bridge for 4 years and never bothered to get one...
