Default GTECH Accurate @ 13.750

Hey guys..

Myself and my two friends decided to go run my car. Yeah I know it was dumb to run the car with my friends in it however I needed more traction.

Anyway ... do you all think GTECHs are accurate? Here is my information.

Here is an actual ticket from dragtimes. Don't know if it is a member on this board but we compared the numbers and found it very similar. We kept all settings on default.

Here's the link to that individual http://www.dragtimes.com/Lexus-IS350-Timeslip-9020.html

What do you think? Accurate or not? Car is completely stock and the guys running with me combined maybe gave me an additional 260 lbs.

how did you get yoru gtech to work with our IS? i could never get the rpms to match up..

gtechs are very accurate... i read that they tested it on a 1/4 mile track... In conclusion since the gtech was so accurate they couldn't decide to either the trust the track timer or the gtech timer.

Also car does .. also to get an accurate weight you should take it to a weighin scale for trucks or i think someone took their car to a garbage dump ..

also could you click on the torque and hp ....

the torque and hp is considered to be true hp and torque rating since it's the actual force you apply on the road. No additional loads are added like some dynos... some people said to add an additional 10% to what you get on your gtech for hp and torque numbers...

Sidenote... Had VSC off with the PWR button on.

We didn't mess with the RPMs. It could never do that, however I wasn't worried about that.

The GTECH measures your forward Gs without messing with all that other stuff.. Never took the car to a track.. However, I compared all that other stuff on Dragtimes. How accurate those guys are.. I dunno.

The first run at 13.6 wasn't on a flat road, so we took the second one more seriously.

A dead stop and it says 0-60 withint 5.1 to 5.2.. Pretty accurate I thought.

That link is to my first time at the drag strip in this car. On that day is when I realized how important it is to disable the traction control. I went from running solid 14 seconds to consistent 13.6's the rest of the day. The track really sucked too. Poor prep, fairly high elevation at 535ft above sea level. Also on that day I had about 3/4 tank of gas and the spare was still in the car.

So if you had an additional 260lbs in your car I would say your estimate is fairly close. Rather than guesstimating, go hit your local track and see what she will do.

Ya I think its accurate enough... With a little more than 1/4 tank of gas in the car and the spare and high tire pressure... 36psi front 38psi rear

this is what I got.

1/4 13.63 secs @ 100.6 mph

1000 ft. 11.38 secs

1/8 8.75 secs @ 81.3 mph

330 ft. 5.73 secs

60 ft. 2.03 secs

0 to 100 mph @ 13.25 secs

0 to 90 mph @ 10.53 secs

0 to 80 mph @ 8.25 secs

0 to 70 mph @ 6.55 secs

0 to 60 mph @ 5.00 secs

0 to 50 mph @ 3.83 secs

0 to 40 mph @ 2.73 secs

0 to 30 mph @ 1.85 secs

0 to 20 mph @ 1.05 secs

0 to 10 mph @ 0.25 secs

I am going to the track tomorrow. I plan on running on a 1/4 tank of gas, not going to take any tires out or whatever..

I just want the car to break into the low mid 13s. IE 13.6, 13.7 and I'll be happy. Love to get a 13.5. Supposed to be cool tomorrow, our high will be like 68, so when I'm at the track at about 10 am it should be lower 50s still. Or mid 50s which is great weather! Hope it doesn't rain! This may be incentive enough for me to get an intake.

You should at least run the rear tires with 28psi and bump up the fronts to 45 or 50psi. Why not take out the spare?

On the stock tires? How bad is that going to tear up my tires? I take it you have ran your car with .. that PSI?

I'm new to all of this and only going out to the track because my muscle car friends have a hard time understanding a little ole Lexus much less a V6 can break into the mid 13s.

I've done it almost every time on my stock Dunlops. Reduce the rear pressures and inflate the front pressures. Your tire pressure light will come on, but just fill up the tires before leaving the track and you are fine. Take out the spare and don't forget to disable the traction control. <---Very important.

Good luck!
