Default Always make sure your wipers are down b4 you try to open your hood

Like the title says Always make sure your wipers are down b4 you try to open your hood.
I learned the hard way, i totally forgot about it, i always put them down after a car wash. This time i forgot, and opened up the hood to dry the hood cover after a car wash

Wipers scraped paint into bare metal.

Is touchup paint decent to fill it up? It a very small scrape.
Still.

POOR BABY

My exterior color is a GFM.

hope it wont be too noticeable after touchup.

That has happened to a couple of members already.

Touch up paint should be fine, but GFM will be very difficult to apply correctly. The area is not that noticable. Now, I know that you notice it, but otherwise, it is not that noticable to everyone else...

Try these guys http://www.paintscratch.com/

You might need a primer as well since the paint scraped through to the bare metal. I just got mine ordered from them and have not received it yet.

Good Luck!!

I have done that before but luckily it didn't dig into the paint like that. I feel your pain though.

Thanks for the warning! I hadn't thought about it, and always put my wipers up when cleaning. Luckily, I've always done under the hood last, so I guess I've always put the wipers down before that.

Ouch!!! That is always painful! Just touch it and never look at it again. I did it on my old car, I scraped it about half a inch long.

I did exactly the same thing just two days after I picked up my brand new IS350.

I was giving it a top to bottom wash and decided to clean the engine bay too. Next thing I knew it was, Bam!, I knocked my hood against the wipers. Then I decided to put the wipers back on the windshield, but I did it in the wrong order. So they ended up hitting against each other too.........

Luckily, there was no visible damage, but I was quite traumatized.....
