Kudos to the Dunlops!
Anyone ever lost traction on a sharp curve? My trusty nav sent me to the boondocks, on a "short" route to the dragstrip at Texas Motorplex. (Short, my a**!) Anyway, I guess I wasn't paying close enough attention to the signs, and didn't even see one with the "recommended" speed around an S-curve on a backroad, just south of Ennis, somewhere. I hit that thing at about 70 (just guessing, because I never go faster than that ) and the sign would have said 30 (if there were a sign). I was wishing I had some "sport" seats, at the time! I thought I'd come loose for sure, if I hit the brakes, and no cars were oncoming, so I rode it out. I found out there is a little body roll, but it never skipped an inch. Thankfully, it was good dry asphalt. Amazing tires, though! Now, I'm wondering just what it would take to activate the VDIM. (But, I really don't want to know, now.)

Now that I think of it, my VDIM (or something) was beeping during my first run that day at the track. But, that was also my fastest run, so I don't see how it could have been losing traction. I was busy though, so I don't know what lights were flashing, if any.

the stock Dunlops is actually one hell of a tire. I have over 18k miles on them now and they been through a lot of rough racing and many passes down the strip. Judging from that abuse you would think they are in really bad condition now, think again. I'm able to pull a 2.0X 60' 9 times out of 10 with them. The only thing I noticed that is bad about them is that they get pretty loud as they are wearing down.
