I had my drivers side bulb go after 3 years, but was at 57K so it was out of warranty. Paid $250 to have it replaced. Didn't want to go aftermarket since it was only 1 bulb. Two weeks later the passenger side bulb went and paid another $250 to have it replaced. Man I wish I had just replaced both bulbs with aftermarket the first time. After reading this thread it seems that the HID bulbs are a problem in the IS.

just switched my oem hid to garax 8000k but now my driver side has like a V shape shadow did i install the bulb wrong?

Sounds like you have your bulb installed 180 degrees off. The shadow is from the ground rod. Turn your bulb around. It will sit better in the housing and should eliminate the shadow.
