Ventilated Seats
I just got my IS on Tuesday night. I was coming home from the gym last night and turned on the ventilated seat (Driver's side). After 20 minutes in stop and go traffic I realized that it didn't seem to do much. So, I turned on the passanger side too. About 2 minutes later I felt much cooler on the drivers side. Now, I didn't get ac hance to try this multiple times and really play with it but does this behavior seem right? Could there be something wrong with the car or could it be my perception?
Any input would be appreciated!

its not a huge blast of air coming up, I actually noticed it more when it was cold out and I clicked them on just for fun -- you could really feel the air coming out -- then when its warm outside its not nearly as noticable IMO.

They seem a lot stronger on the ES350 than the IS. I happened to wear the same dress pants those times, but I didn't check my boxers
I'm just guessing the way the seats are shaped and padded, not as much air vents out as the ES. It's probably louder though haha

But my point was that I could feel it as soon as I turned on the passenger one too. So, when the drivers one was on I didn't feel it, when they were both turned on I felt it (in the drivers seat). So, the behavior seemed strange.

Not at this time yet.
I don't know if it's possible to switch any other Lexus seat into the IS, but I don't think it will differ too much.
The main problem is that it's ventilated, not air-conditioned. The AC definately makes a huge difference.
THE BIG TRICK: turn on the AC to ventilate to the floor. The cool air will then be circulated through the seats...

It should not take turning on the passenger seat vent. fan for you to have the driver's seat vent. fan activated. I can feel mine with only the driver's seat activated.

i've played with it.
you realy need to have the A/C on.
this is a variation of the under dash vents like my camry had.
a little vent under the steering wheel that you could adjust to blow on your crotch

Same here, the Heated/Cooled seats is Almost the #1 reason why I bought the IS over the 3 series. Whoever says the ventilated seats are worthless has never spent a summer in Houston, TX!! They are a life saver! Also I have had my heater on and my seat ventilated turned to 3 and the air coming out of the seats was cold and the air coiming out of the vents on the dash was hot so if it just ventilates the air shouldent the air be hot?? I think it does cool the air somehow....
