Go to any auto store, buy a paint prep clay kit, Mother's has a good one for under $20, follow the directions, and your painted pinstripe will be off in 10 minutes, with no harm to the underlying paint. Or, tell the stealership to do it.

The sales guy was wrong. They were not painted on and can be easily removed according to the dealer. I am going to look it over good this afternoon and it it looks good, I will buy it. Sticker $39,875, I can purchase it for $36,450. IS350, TP, premium package, no nav or ML stereo.

Better check those options again - I don't think you can get "luxury" pkg without Nav.

(edit) Sorry, I see on another post that there is such a thing as Lux w/o nav.

Oh well if they weren't painted on its not a biggy. Especially on a new car, they should come right off, with alittle work, and some detailers wax you'll never know they were there!

Take plenty of pictures when you finally get your car!

My pinstripes are up a little higher. There is a break when it gets to the side mirrors. Looks like about 1/4 to 1/2 inch higher. Thought we had twins there for a second.

I'll try to get one . I got it from North Side Lexus. About the only thing I got them to throw in free. Most of the cars had 3 painted strips and mine has only 2.

Interesting! Mine also has two stripes, a larger one on top of a smaller one, and is below the crease. Here's a closeup of the Lexus symbol they put in it, too.

Here's some pics of my pin stripes (brown and gold)....a week before I had the people who installed them for the dealership take them off
They were just vinyl stickers and the place used a heat gun to remove them.

I didn't expect all the variations. Mine are painted - probably so they could charge more for it.
