I got a stupid ding on my 3 week old car last night....so pissed. the one time i park next to another car in a movie lot and i get a ding. bastards. there was alot of room in the space too. it had to be a damn SUV and it was high too cuz the ding is above the rear passenger door handle where the panel curves up.

how much does paintless dent removal usually cost?

for one ding removal??? I don't know - but they're usually pricey -- also check with 2 or 3 places --- make sure they're a quality shop.

No dings yet, but I wished I had put clear Bra on my rear bumper (mother-in-law backed into me). The side molding would not look good.

Hmmm...

Old thread, but now relevant since I got a door ding.

Attempted paintless dent removal, with no success. It looks like a pimple scar on the side of my car...

Question: should I spend $500 to get it smoothed and repainted by a body shop, or should I just accept it and say "I'll never park in public places again"?

I would live with it Phillip. I am. Last weekend - I was cutting hedges, had the ladder out. When I was done (and pretty tired) I was bringing the ladder back into the garage, and managed to side-swipe my IS250 (Obsidian). The ladder is a "Little Giant" and weighs a ton... it managed to leave a pretty good chunk of rubber and a gawd awful looking scratch. I took my PC7424, some Merenza polishes to it . . but at the end of it all... my IS now has some character. A very feint scratch, which my wife says only I can see. But it's there.

Last new car I had, the neighbors cat got up in my rafters and knocked a bunch of side molding (wood) onto it. Those scratches are still on the car ( 8 years later). *sigh* What I learned is that stuff happens, and sometimes a cat can disappear and nobody seems to miss it <kidding>
