Default Lexus IS - Leg & Head Room (Vehicle comparison)

Hope this helps !

Our IS has the worst Rear Leg Room in its class.

The IS wins in the Front Leg Room category together with the G35. Both cars have 43.9 inches.

Another sad story is the Front Head Room comparison. Our IS again got the lowest score in this category with 37.2 inches followed by the TSX with 37.8 inches.

See the 9 post in this thread for more info.

And it's nice to see that the most beautiful car on the list is the model in the background...

i'm surprised we have less room than a c230. They shoudl have switched the TL with the TSX for this category.

Wait we seriously have less headroom and leg room than an RSX? There is no way that is right; I own both. And the back seat of the RSX has WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY less room.

This is completely misleading.
Look at the front legroom on the IS compared to the list.
Sure if you max out the front legroom, you'll compromise the rear, but the avg driver will never max out the IS front seats.
To be an apples to apples comparison, the front seats have to be adjusted at the same distance before measuring the rear legroom . . .

I know it is hard to digest but the info is accurate !

Error corrected. It's a TSX not a RSX.

The info is definately accurate. We cannot deny the fact that the IS has miniscule rear leg room.

However, the function of the IS is more geared towards performance than being a family car. As many members know, there are a couple of owners (ex-owners now) that had to get rid of their IS due to the lack of space in the back for family members or baby car seats.

Most of our members did not buy the car because it will be the sole car for a big family. There are other options for that. They are on the list as shown above.

Personally, I find that the IS "fits perfectly" for me. I use it for work everyday, and I do not expect to have passengers in my car 95% of the time. That's what the LS460L is for... The IS is a "driver's car," not a "passengers' car."

Although the IS interior is small, it fits a lot of people perfectly.

Not surprising at all... My ex GF's Scion TC has WAY more rear leg room than my IS.
