Seems like a lot of effort for something only you and your mechanic will see, but I have to admit that it looks great!

Thanks for the compliments.

It only took 2.5 hours from start to finish !

The mesh was the easiest part cause all I did was use a black permanent marker and ran it down the grooves. The V-6 was filed and sanded off and the paint was Krylon plastikote. A little bit of blue masking tape and a new utility knife blade. The VVT-I was $16 ( I got 2 and put 1 on the back of the car) on E-bay and the rest is history.

I don't do shows but I like unique subtle tricks.

This one was EZ !

Very nice!! But I hope you know that the permanent marker will start to turn red with all that heat when it starts to fade

Thanks.

It only took about 10 minutes so I guess I'll keep my Sharpie handy.

I was thinking about doing it in red anyway but I guess I won't have to now.

Thanks TR3XX, I do have a pretty steady hand byt I did not need one for this project. The Mesh design on the engine cover is actually molded channels so they were natural giudes for the Sharpie medium point.
I guess what I am saying is that it's really EZ !

Pop off your engine cover ( just pry up on the side's with your hands, it comes right off) and take a closer look at the mesh and see what I am talking about.
