Where do you go for your oil change?
#17
I took my car to a local oil change shop. It costs $18 for labor and about $40 for 7 quarts of full synthetic 5W-20 from wallymart. Total: $60, but with a full synthetic oil.
United,
If you want to know where, let me know, cuz I'm also from Sac.

The warning light can be turned off when it comes on, by a series of button pushing but not sure how, just saw a lexus tech do it once.

- OEM filter from Sewell: > $6
- Castrol GTX oil from Kragen (on sale): > $8 (.99/qt + tax)
You gotta stock up when you see a great sale . . .

mine are free ....
Not sure how, but my dealer includes all scheduled maintenance *gratis* AND they pick up my car from downtown and leave a loaner. Yes I paid sticker (when that was the only way to buy an IS) but no I didn't buy the maintenance package. Just good karma I guess ....

How much cheaper is it to get it done at Toyota? I bought my car used so I haven't gotten the oil changed yet.
Edit: I just got scored me a coupon for a $20 oil change at Toyota!

It's not a deep dark secret. The method is in the owners manual as well as the FAQ stickied at the top of this forum. It's also described dozens of times in the searchable archives, as this question is asked an answered about once a week.

$50 + free loaner at the dealer. i don't have time to sit around and wait so i drop it off in the morning and take the loaner to work for the day. i will gladly pay that for the convenience.

It would depend in the area you live in. In Bakersfield, CA the Lexus dealership charges $180 something just for an oil change on an IS350, while the Toyota dealership next door charges $35, mind you the techs at Toyota walked over to the Lexus dealership for the oil filter. I took my IS to the Toyota dealership for its 25k service and it cost me $65, whereas I was quoted $450 from Lexus.
