"you have no idea of the power..." darth vader
just for fun(I'm still breaking in the car with only 400 miles on it) i was on the accelerator with a lead foot.
90,95 100, all with nice low revs(around 3k). it was like i was doing 55.
when i brought it down to 70, it was like going 10 mph. what a car.

That just makes me want the car even more.
How much of a difference is there between the power of the 250 and the 350. I have test driven both, but the difference wasn't as apparant as I thought it would be.

Surely you jest. I've gotten IS250s as loaners, and the difference between them and the IS350 is night and day. To quantify the difference, the IS350 has 102 more horsepower, and has a 0-60 that is 2.6 seconds faster than the IS250 RWD, and 3 seconds faster than the IS250 AWD.

Just hit 80 miles on my IS350 today. This breaking it in thing is killing me. Went up to 4,200 rpms today. Quick car. Similar performance to the 928GT I had but, much more comfortable on a daily basis. Cannot wait to see what it can really do. Not real impressed with the padels. Too much of a delay.
once you're ready to take it to redline, hold on. it'll feel like a whole different car. without taking it for a ride and recording the rpms, i think the powerband is from 3500 and up. maybe closer to 4000. and the shift from first to second happens so fast and you lose no power. trust me, you'll fall in love
Of course, i felt the power the second i drove it of the lot. not a believer in break in periods...on my 1968 camaro, yes...not a 2007 lexus!
i agree that the paddles are not impressive. i never use them to upshift, only for downhill assist and so i dont get rolling too fast in residential areas. i think they're fun for people who have never driven a standard, but i cant imagine how anyone coming off a standard would find them impressive. unless of course they were coming off a 1990 standard VW passat

For REAL power feeling..........turn "ON" PWR button and have fun! You'll feel the pull in your tummy! Although, I got about 850miles on it, I haven't redlined it yet. Just got to about 5500RPM and STILL you can FEEL it!

80 miles? How long have you had it? Living in Georgia should have you out there putting miles on the vehicle. No snow or ice to worry about. Agree on the paddles ..... not of much use as far as I can tell.
