Check engine and check VSC came on Saturday.....Lexus called me today stating there is an oil control valve failure and the part will take six weeks to arrive.
Anyone else experienced this problem?

14K, and I'm definitely planning on doing that. Thing is they will probably leave it sitting outside for six weeks. I am certainly not one to wash and wax my car very often, once a month usually, but 6 weeks outside will be a mess.

There is a TSIB for oil leaking from the valve train cover area. EG001-07 issued 17FEB07

Right, but that has nothing to do with an oil control valve failure. The OCV is for VVTi. The engine won't run well (if at all) with a bad OCV. It will run fine with minor leaks.

A lot of stuff can happen in 6 weeks. I would see if you can just keep your car at home until they have the parts to get started. You save them storage space and you can keep an eye on your ride.

They had the car for 5 days and could not duplicate the problem. They cleared the code (P0021 I think) and asked me to drive the car. There is an open case number for the part that is coming from Japan. when it arrives they will replace the valve.
It's under warranty so if it fails again or something worse happens, it's on their dime.

My Check VSC and Check Engine light came on January 31st..Took the car in to the dealership February 1st...they discovered that my engine valves were sticking and not functioning properly..The parts were on back order...I left my IS250 there w/ 12,600 miles on the dot...Got an ES350 loaner car w/ 6100miles...My car (I THINK) has been sitting in a parking garage..untouched..for this long...The parts had to be manufactured and shipped to Miami from Japan...Got a call yesterday saying the parts are in and it'll take a week to fix....I am currently running close to 8000k on the loaner car, and therefore I will return it after having burned a little over 2000 miles into it...Car's under warranty...but these issues are such a pain...If something like it re-occurs again...I'm switching the car. End of story
