Default Random function on ML??

Ok, I made a few MP3 disc's for the car. Each one has about 100 or so songs, maybe more, don't really know. Anyway, they play fine and sound great. No problem. My question is with the function of the random feature. On my ML system, when you select random, at the end of the song the system will randomly select a track from your disk. Great. However, if you use the steering wheel control or the button on the console to move to the next track, that is exactly what you get..the next sequential track. By this I mean that the random function does not work when you manually skip a track. Every other CD player that I have ever owned or seen in my life will randomly select a track if you push the "track advance" button. Ipod for example. If you select shuffle and it selects a song you don't want, you just hit the advance button and it randomly selects a new song.

Anyone else notice this?? Is mine different or is that just they way the ML system is.

The only way I can randomly change songs is to deselect the "random" function and then select it back. When I do that, it will randomly select a song.

Actually this is a complaint I have as well. I hardly ever use the random feature because of this.

that's how it is with both the ML and non-ML. The only way to have to skip to another random song is to push the random button twice (turning it off, then on again).

i have the standard non-ML pioneer and I find it a pain in the *** to press '1' twice!

Does anyone know a way to shuffle songs when u hit next on the steering wheel instead of having to push '1' constantly??

No problem! Just randomly burn them on the CDs.
