anyone know the maintenance schedule on the rear axle fluid?

my last rear wheel drive car had synthetic fluid in the rear axle that had to be changed every 30k miles or so. what about my new is 250? i didn't see anything about it on here or in the manual.

You can use this stuff and not worry about it for 100K miles. I don't think you will find anything better. You can use it in the manual trans also!

Not sure what kind of fluid Lexus uses. I have noticed that Mobil supplies oil to Toyota dealers down here, but I have never seen Mobil 1 gear fluid being sold.
Amsoil gear fluid is a great choice. Mobil 1 is also. My favorite is that from Royal Purple.
The transfer case up front has a rotten egg smell when you drain the fluid, but the rear differential will not have much of any smell, but usually one will find accumulation of some sort on the drain plug. My uncle and I have done many such drain and fills on rear differentials and have usually found this to be the case.
