not necessary ? back in the dayz:

cast iron rims vs alloy wheels : alloy wheels are definitely better than the ugly black ones!

alloy vs alloy: then bigger wheels are heavier.

I don't see the correlations, but i know what you mean. Wider tyres arguably do attract nails more than skinny ones but yeh ...

Actually .... what are the differences in brakes between both the 250 and 350 ... I've read this several times in this forum but don't really know the actual differences ..... who knows?

In Canada, IS250 RWD stock wheels are 205/55/16. I just thought this was normal everywhere?

Rotor diameter and ventilation style are different. Front calipers are fixed with four pistons, not floating with one. Rears on both float. See below:

Thanks. I was wondering if the 250 had 4 piston fronts as well .... not the case i see.

One of the things that sold me on the 1st Gen IS was a Road&Track (??) article where the writer stated that, in their testing, the IS out braked every Ferrari they had ever tested save for one. I was wondering if the 2nd Gen was as good?

Sorry for the bump, but I just want to see if I can get a little clarification...

So if you have two wheels - one 18" and one 19" - that are both the same weight, and the same width and everything... There is absolutely NO performance advantage for the 19" wheels over the 18" wheels?
