My IS250 is silver and my friend's IS350 is black, so we were gonna switch.

Lol ok. The IS250 comes with a black engine cover. The IS350 comes with a silver engine cover. People often paint their engine covers to match their car and some of us like the look. I have a silver car so I wanted to get his silver engine cover. He has a black car so he was going to take my black one.
Either way, since we can't swap it's pretty irrelevant now.
