Well my 10 day old 2007 IS 250 is now for sale...

I've gotta add my 2 cents here - I've never owned one but everything I hear about Audi cars is positive, except for the reliability and maintenance issues. they ride and handle great and have looks, both inside and out. one of my best friends is an Audi guy and Ive driven a few of his cars, including his '07 S6 which is a pure rocket. but another one of my mates is a certified Audi tech and he told me (as someone mentioned above) never to own a German car that's out of warranty. that says a lot considering the source.

Thanks for the validation (from an Audi tech no less)

What else is there? Key factors are maintenance and reliability, then comes the cosmetics

That's sort of like saying your local football team always wins when they play, but they don't show up for half the games.

Love German cars when they are in warranty.
Lucas Electrics on my Austin Healey was fun. I drove it in the rain Once...Just Once... German cars have that connected to the road feeling. My lexus is for cruising. I'm not going to make it into something that it's not which is a track car. For track you'd need a manual tranny or SMG/DSG.

well there's performance; handling; design, materials and finish on inside and outside, the cachet of the brand name, etc. I guess to some people maintenance and reliability are not as important as to others. I agree w/you though as I own a Toyota and a Honda and like I said, I've never owned an Audi or BMW and probably never will.

10 days? you are just having a case of buyers remose.
Just hold on to your car for the 60 days, and if you dont like it enough to wait for the new S4, then dump it. You are going to lose a ton of money anyway.
Just as a heads up the V8 S4s are not very good with the MPG.

People here are making it sound like the Japanese can't make good handling cars but that's simply not true. Lexus and toyota maybe but lets not say japanese makers can't make good handling cars! Mazda and Honda for example knows how to make cars handle well. Try driving a Mazda Miata, RX 7, RX 8, anything Type R from honda or S2000 even my beater 2002 Mazda protege out handles and feels better doing so than my co-workers junky puffy 2004 Audi A4 POS.

I've had a car with issues that required frequent visits to the dealer. It becomes almost comical after awhile showing up to work in rental cars all the time.

If you have had Audi's all your life and you love them, then obviously you are facing a period of adjustment by getting into a Lexus. Give it a little more time, I think once you adjust a little more more, you will start to really like the IS. A week and a half in the Lex is not sufficient after all the time you have spent in Audi's. Just my $.02.
