Default So I bent a stock wheel, guess how much for a new one!!

I hit a pothole last week, that in all reality probably could have eaten my entire car and then asked for seconds. It was raining, and at night and right after the crest of a hill so I stood absolutely no chance of avoiding it. Not to mention the 2" cement lane dividers on this 2 lane back road in Morgantown, WV. I thought my car exploded when I hit it. But anyways, long story short, I had to replace the tire due to an enormous bubble in the side, so that was $200 for the stock 225/45/R17 Dunlop. Then when the guy at the shop here through it on the balancer after beading the new tire, he told me to come look and sure enough I bent it. So I called lexus and now I am looking at a $509 dollar replacement!!!

Thankfully my new HPD wheels come in next week, looks like thats 500 bucks I have to fork out next fall in prep. for winter!!!

Sorry to hear the damage to your pocket, but you made out alright.
I am sure you can save more bucks if you shop around for that tire.. $200 for the stock 17" Dunlop tire is too stiff.

It can probably be fixed for $100. I would never pay retail for an OEM wheel. They're too easy to get cheap.

Yea that is a bit stiff considering I paid $207 shipping included for the dunlop i got to replace my 18s since I had that bubble thing too after the curb slashed my tire back then.

DO NOT! I REPEAT DO NOT BUY A NEW WHEEL. I too have bent a wheel hitting a pot hole. However, I sent in my wheel to get refinished so now its as good as new. I have been told that in the USA (i'm from vancouver, canada) it's not popular or there aren't any shops that refinish rims? Anyways, you can get it refinished for about 150 CDN a tire, they will help bend it back and basically remove any scratches or anything and return it back to good as new. There are a few other shops around here that do it but i find Panther the best. It is very common for people from the US to send up rims to this place to get there wheels refinished. Anyways, here is the website. http://www.pantherwheels.com/

I thought you couldn't fix a single forged wheel? Hmm.

OEM parts are expensive. For that price you can get 2.5 ISP rims.

Just look on ebay, or post in the classifieds, I am sure you can get that 17 wheel for $100, if you look hard enough
