I am tempted to visit my Lexus dealer now just to scope for hot chicks baking cookies... There's nothing quite like having a hot chick bake goodies for you and then serve you... Makes you feel like a king

Heck, I hope I run over a nail now so I have an excuse to use my tire warranty

Yeah, $24 was a lot lower than it probably could been given that it was at a dealership. You know what else I found interesting was this old guy watching the movie next to me was told by a service tech that he had a lot of things going wrong with his car... it was a '91, and the guy had bought it new. The service guy could have said that the guy needed to have about $7k worth of work done, but he actually advised the old guy to just wait it out since the car is so old. You don't run into that approach very often from a tech at a dealership.

Funny, I got a nail on my tire recently too...I just finished work and saw the indicator. I typically get this because I don't drive my car much, but I still drove slowly home.

Checked the tires and found one was at 25 PSI, normally the indicator comes on at 29-30 PSI. Found a nail but all tire centers are closed Was loosing 1 PSI an hour, so I pumped the tire to 40 PSI and went to sleep.

Next morning tire was around 26 PSI, guess I slept too much...Had a local goodyear fix it. $35 dollars, but got
my money's worth...they ended up putting on patch after patch but there was still a leak, ended up giving me the
patch / plug combo from the inside out....so far no leaks

Congrats. I would have bet on a nail. It's really unusual for a tire to lose enough pressure to set a warning unless there is something causing a leak. Sure I know all about the temperature change thing, but odds are, it's a nail/screw/sharp metal object causing the problem.

Your story is quite similar to mine. Regardless of what the skeptics say, TPMS comes in handy once in a while.

Yup, definitely handy, I really like it... But as always, I feel the option to disable it should be available...

You would.

I sometimes wonder if one of your ancestors was an officer on the bridge of the Titanic advising the Captain to turn off the wireless that the ship builders made them install so they wouldn’t have to listen to those intrusive ice berg warnings, and that he was willing to go to the radio shack and do it himself.

I already said I would pay more for it if they offered it as an option only. My wife will drive off on a totally flat tire and destroy any hope of ever repairing it without even a thought. Believe me, I have great need for TPMS.
