i'm not gonna say it's impossible.. but it's gotta be close to it.. the space down there is just so tight, i dont see how you could get a hammer anywhere near the pin and still have room to hold a 5/32" punch in line with it.. there's no chance of getting at it from the right side and the brake pedal on the left side is equally obstructive.. not to mention the fact that you wont be able to see anything behind the pedal.. and after cramming and contorting your body into that footwell for more than 10 min you'll feel like you got karate chopped in the neck.. also, be aware that forceful blows to the accelerator arm while it's mounted to the assembly could result in irrepairable damage (bending, etc).. okay, so i changed my mind. i think it's impossible to do it that way.. just take the pedal assy off.. speaking from experience, take your time and be very patient and try to find the smallest ratchet ever made to accomodate a 10mm socket.. you'll be glad when you see the results

It really isn't that bad, it took me about twenty minutes to complete all the pedals. Once you've read the necessary installation threads and have all the tools you'll be good to go.

How much would it cost to have a shop install these pedals?

sewell does not sell the 3 piece sport pedal kit anymore for the 2IS.. they will sell you the dead pedal and the brake pedal separately (i think around $100 for both).. they no longer sell the aluminum accelerator pedal as an accesory.. you can only buy the entire accelerator assy.. which runs like $300+ for the 2G IS.. the good news is that the accelerator pedal from the IS 300 WILL fit our cars.. ive heard the brake pedal from the IS 300 will fit as well.. check out ebay.. i bought an acclerator assy from 04 IS 300 for $25, then i just knocked the pin out and popped off the aluminum pedal and installed it in my car... works like a champ

I paid $175 CAD installed on my IS. I think the pedals are the only thing that is cheaper here in Canada then in the US on our cars.

I think you really need to take of the gas pedal otherwise you will have no room to human the pin out! Also you might bend it as well... so I suggested you either take it off or take it to the dealer to install it. By the way I install mind once you got the pin out pretty much finish! However it took me about 10mins to take it off and human the pin out thou! Good Luck!

I am not sure I understand what you are reffering to when you say Trunk Tray. Do you mean the trunk liner?

I guess what I am trying to ask is. It is possible to modify the sport gas pedal to attach instead of replace the stock? That is the reason for a pciture of the back side.
