Default Chicagoland area IS owners

Well, after browsing these forums for over a year I'm finally ready to buy a Lexus IS350. I'm looking to buy a used, red IS350 with the lexury package. So here is my question, which dealerships in the Chicagoland area have you guys delt with and which one was willing to negotiate the most? I appreciate all input.

For a used IS350... i don't think you'll necessarily have your choice of dealerships.... a quick Cars.com search for used IS350's within ~100 miles of chicago only brings up a few cars, several are Red.

Bentley Downers Grove has a Red 06 IS350, 16K miles listed at $34K.

Arlington Lexus in Palatine has a Red 07 IS350 with only 600 miles listed for $36,444. I've coincidentally had good experience with them, bought my parents an RX330 and GX470 from them within the past 2 years.

Up in Middleton Wisconsin, there's a Red 06 IS350, ~9K miles listed at $37,000.

At this point the difference in price between a new and used IS350 is minimal.

Might be better off buying a new one.

Just a suggestion.

pbm317, thank you for taking the time and posting your serch results. I did check cars.com before but I didn't think to increase the search area. So..... I did find one like the one I'm looking for but it's 2000 miles away in California. They want $39988 for it, and who knows, plane tickets are only $300.

CoasterG, if I can find a used one for around $38K that is much less than a new one at $44. It still is an option but a last one.

You can always haggle down a new car in price, but dealers are typically firm on used car prices, so you never know, you could email some dealers from carsdirect or another site and see if any of them are willing to give you a good deal like 500-1500 over invoice on a new car.

bought mine from woodfield lexus, was a pretty nice place to deal with. the dealership itself was just built so it looks very nice inside and out. the service is amazing too. i told them not to put on the lisence plate when i bought it and the sales rep. went himself to make sure it was not installed.

i tried negotiating with the arlington heights lexus, but they didnt budge.

You are right, the invoice comes out to $39,527. If I can only buy it at an invoice price now.

Thanks for the info. I'm actually going in to Arlington Lexus this Wednesday to take a look at a used IS350. If they won't come down in price I'll go to Woodfield Lexus to see what they have. I will post my findings here.

While I probably could have a gotten a great deal on the car at any dealership for new, Bredemann happened to have the exact color combo and optioned IS350 "gently" used. I got it fully loaded with about 9k miles, everything except the PCS and Dynamic Radar, which I really wouldn't care for. Glacier Frost with 18's. Sticker came out to about 45,500. I also traded my car in(didn't want to deal with selling private party), they offered me $1500 more than any other dealership had, and that made the deal much nicer as I also benefitted about $1000 in tax savings, which basically would have almost equated what I would have sold the car private party. I picked up my IS350 for 37K, sure I could have probably ordered or waited for one and wheeled the deal down to 40 k or so for a brand spanking new one, but I was fine with getting one with low mileage and saving some money. I was also impatient. I saw the ad come up, was there 2 hours later, drove the car home that night. I've had great experience with Bredemann and their customer service has been great.

I should also add at the time there were next to no used IS350's on the market. This was probably one of the first in the Chicago land area.

Same deal here. I'm very set on the colors and options I want. If I can get an used one for $37000 (MSRP45000) I will be happy. Well..... off to the dealerships!
