Well after all of the paper work was done...my payment was going to go up $44.00 a month and looking at extra 60 months of payments. My trade in was going to be $26,495.00 and I owe right under $20,000. They dropped the price of the SC from $38,995 to $36,495. I guess I will keep what I have got and do as I originally wanted and hand this car down to my daughter in Dec. She will be 16 and I will decide then to go for the SC or maybe move up to an IS350? Thanks to all of ya'll for the input.

I'm glad to hear that you've made a decision quickly and with not too much hassle.
The SC (as well as the IS350) will always be there. Just enjoy your IS250 for now...

Would It Ever make Sense to trade in a IS250 for an Older SC??Im talking a 97+ SC300, with plans of major modding down the line? It is a 10 year old car and almost feels like a downgrade, however the SC is such a drivers car unlike the feeling in the 250. I dunno guys whatdu think?

I will never drive anything else!! I had my SC400 for about 4 years and sold it believe it or not with 270,000 miles and it was in excellent shape. I put a new altenator on it before I sold it not knowig I was getting rid of it and it still had the factory one on it. For some reason I think the SC's quality is far beyond the IS. Even down to the carpet. I will wait and see if the IS conv. ever goes into production, would love the ISF but could'nt afford it.

Well guys...I have the SC now. I hope to finish the paper work on Monday. I have the car for the weekend to decide if I will trade....and I WILL DEFINATELY TRADE MONDAY! Made my mind up tonight. Iwill post pix tomorrow. UNBELIEVABLE!!! 2003 silver 1 owner 45,000 miles, ecru and golden birdseye maple. I would have liked to have taken the $350,000 Mercedes SLR McClaren it was parked by. Go to musiccitymotorsports.net and check it out!

If yes, that is amazing. What did you say to convince them to do so

I have been thinking of buying a used lexus suv mid 2007..need another bigger vehicle.
Anyway, congrats on the decision.
I think live is too short to be unhappy with the vehicle you drive.
If financially you can afford it, buy whatever you think will make you happy(er).

Yeah. It's a cute car. I usually see women or older men driving those types of cars. LOL... I'll probably end up with one when I'm middle aged too.

It does have run flats....I might put my wheels on it, I don't know if they will look good? I actually like the ones on there now but they are not wide enough in the back.

Both the IS and SC are fine automobiles. Yes the IS is newer, but the SC isn't that old.
The feel of diving a big convertible with the top down cannot be matched by most 4 door sedan. The feel of it is just different. I too would have made the same trade if I had an IS250.
tennistodd, congratulations on purchasing your vehicle. I've learned for a fact that if you really want a specific (reasonable)car, you shouldn't have to settle for anything less. I hope you enjoy your car
