Well you can try to connect it directly. If the 15AMP fuse pops, then that means you need to run it to the battery. Replacing the 15AMP fuse to a higher amperage is dangerous because the wiring only supports 15AMP.
You may extend the power and ground wires as much as you need. id o not feel resistance would be a major issue.

Okay I just tried to connect it using the factory connector without running to the battery and nothing. Wont come on at all. Then I hooked the power and ground wires up and voila it came on no problem. How are people doing this without running to the battery? Do I have to modify the kit any? If possible I'd like to do this without running the wires to the battery because it's really tough to work in this damn car. Also I'd have to really remove the wheel and a whole lot more of fender liner, if I want to find where to run the wire into the engine bay from the fender. Something I'd like to avoid. THANKS!!!

There might be a polarity problem. Did you confirm which ends are Positive and Negative?
For halogen bulbs, they are not polarity specific. As long there is a Positive and Negative hooked up, it will light up, whereas HID Ballast, they are polarity specific.
DOuble Check the Polarity and Let us know!

Be sure to have a light tester to check the polarity!
Remember to have a pack of fuses ready!

Well if you're asking about the wire that's supposed to go to the battery then yes it's positive, and the ground wire is the ground. The connector that hooks up to the factory connector only snaps when connected in one direction. I don't think there's any other way to connect it. The HID light DID light up when I hooked up the positive wire to the battery and ground just not when i used only the factory connector.

the 9006 connector? You mean the 2 connectors that fit into the corresponding connectors on the HID bulbs? They can only fit in one way with this kit. they've got male - female and female - male connectors. They're keyed to fit together only one way. If you're talking about the connector that came off of the original 9006 bulb that hooks onto the adaptor it snaps in only one direction. When i connect it the other way it doesn't snap in.
Here's my kit. You mean the top next to where I have the ground wire? Or the ones on the bottom right?

You totally lost me. I have no idea what you are trying to do.
Connecting these ballast are very simple.
You have two methods.
Method 1: Using Relay Harness
Method 2: Connecting the power lines directly to the existing 9006 sockets.
From where we last spoke previously, you wanted to go with Method 2.
From what I assumed you said previously, it would not light up when you connect the wires directly to the existing 9006 sockets. That's why I asked you about polarity.
The 9006 sockets have 2 wires. 1 Positive. 1 Negative. Those two wires have Polarity.
Well anyway, when you connect the ballast to those existing 9006 sockets, Did you confirm the Polarity?
Ba-B4, If you think after market PLUG/PLAY kits are 100% perfect all of the time, then I strongly urge you to reconsider. Aftermarket kits do not have the budget for R&D to appropriately address all the different make and models out there. You may have to modify your Plug and Play kit for it to function properly. If you are not so confident, I strong advise you to bring it to somebody who knows what they are doing.

Well I'm not too sure about the terminology but I'm trying not to use the relay harness. Using the relay harness method I get the hids to fire up no problem. I however want to directly connect up the ballasts to the existing 9006 sockets without using the relay method. The thing is the kit has a connector attached that only snaps in one way. I dont think i can get the polarity wrong unless i cut off the connector and attach the wires together that way. Sorry if this is confusing I'll keep trying. Thanks so much for your help thus far!

Yeah that's what I thought I needed to do but it didn't work! DKcivic you have the xenon depot xtreme kit too right, and it worked for you? Now one thing is that I only did it for one side. I dont think I needed to hook up both sides of the HID kit to test it right? I did this on the passenger side first only and the passenger side didn't come on only the drivers side normal halogen fogs came on. Connecting the relay wires to the battery and ground made them come on though..
