I couldn't disagree more with the post above. The IS250 is much, much more than capable of doing all the things required for freeway driving. To say otherwise is a gross exaggeration.

I guess it all depends how you drive your car. I like to drive aggressive once in a while and know that I actually have the power to do so. It is a peace of mind. Especially getting used to driving a IS350. It was torture being stuck with the IS250.

The difference between the 250 and 350 is palpable, no doubt, but to say that it's "difficult to drive" with a 250 is very much a stretch.

The pros driving the F-Sport modded 250s at the Taste of Lexus Driving Event I attended had no trouble embarrassing everyone driving an IS-F that day. The 250 may not be fast in a straight line, but it's a very competent drive on the track with just a few mods.

Still, I did get an F after owning a 350 for a reason.

That may be the case, I suppose it also depends on where you live.

Contrary to what my information says I actually live in Texas. Maybe CA/NY roads require more aggressive pick up.

Default looking for a fun, reliable daily driver, is IS250 too slow?

i try to decide whether the $5000 price premium of the IS350 is worth paying for. thanks.

Just get the IS350. Trust me, you won't regret it. I can assure you that.

If you want a manual transmission, you have to get the 250. If transmission doesn't matter, get the 350.

reliability is the same for 250&350
as far as a "fun" part,,it all depends what is fun for you

do you need ~300 HP to have fun?
or
do you like just driving around a lot..

if you wanna have FUN by driving FAST CAR...then IMO Lexus IS250/350 is the wrong car for you,,there are other cars out there that are FAST FAST

it depends what the word FAST mean to you ...

if u mean is the IS250 slow as in ... no power ... sluggish .. ( like a corolla) then no its not slow .. but adequate ..
but if u want to do traffic light races with other cars .. then IS350 is the way to go
you have to decide if its worth it ... both interior and exterior is the same .. only difference is the engine ...
if you just use it for daily driving .. IS250 is really ALL you need ...
but if you want the power and speed then get IS350

I got the iS250 is because i'm a student ... and i know i am going to race and use alot of gas if i had 300 hp at my feet
plus its cheaper to buy . .easier on my wallet
i am very happy with the is250 .. it has more then enough power for any city driving

is 250, is probably just as fast as most of the cars on the road. is350 is probably faster than most cars on the road that you will see daily driving. i couldn't live w/ a 250 after driving around in my 350. i had a 250 loaner for a day and i was dying. Its nice to be able to shut down all those ricer hondas out there too.... haha
