now THAT is the best post in this thread yet. 
that doesn't even make sense, especially coming from someone who got the is250 because of the fuel economy and lower cost as a trade-off for the performance and higher price tag of the is350.
hate to break this to you, but weaving through traffic does not make you a "skilled" driver by any means. as a matter of fact, your ego/bravado/perception is writing checks that you and your is250 can't afford. give up the pipe dream before your ego/bravado/perception and your is250 gets walked on by an is350.
don't forget the larger brakes.

We bought a 250 because we went with the best one year old used IS we could find.
Drove it home to Arizona from Oregon.
Plenty of power through all the mountain passes, and the six speed AUTOMATIC handled all the downshifts so smoothly you could hardly detect the shifts.
Handling is awesome.
Blown away by the gas mileage.
Yes the 350's are very nice, but if you think you're getting 100 extra ponies for "virtually the same gas mileage" you are insane.
This car is mom's taxi so to speak, so the excellent gas mileage is appreciated. The worst mileage for a tank we ever recorded was 24.5, middle of the summer, 110's, AC blowing, all city traffic.
The best was the trip from Oregon to AZ, 32 on the nose.
We average about 28 mixed, mostly city.
My wife is an ex-cop that drives like a maniac.

I think the power in the 350 was what really tipped me over the fence... I didn't realize how much faster the 350 was until I test drove both. I think if I got a 250, I would be regretting it A LOT because my friends drive G35s and TLs and Lancers... I think you get the point.

There's a lot of factors, aren't there?
Pricing, availability, what your needs for a vehicle are, etc.
I don't understand why people bring up these incitative threads. There has to be is250 vs is350 related talks in hundreds of threads around the forum.
