great idea. Drive both and see which you like better. You could always put a 350 emblem on your 250 and play mind games with yourself!

honestly given your situation, i'd go with the 250. but i'd advise that having points taken off is no reason to bump it back up. the 250 has enough power for a DD, and though many upgrade to the 350 for a little bit more power, 250 is more than enough and, of course, gives you that luxury inside without coughing up too much dough. but i'd refrain from upgrading to a 350 just to speed again, as you'll be back in the same situation in a few years without a doubt, as you stated earlier. best of luck!

Thanks for the replies guys! So I want to make a few points:

1. No MiiK350 I do not plan on getting more tickets I am just realistic hahaha....I'm 28 now and I average 4-5 tickets a years since I was 16....I'm safe, just fast *_*
2. I like what grondie said. I will go take them both for a test drive.
3. I REALLY like what fasteddy91 said. Haha I like the idea of the 350 because as you can tell I love driving fast. And putting it in snow mode and using the cruise (I do a lot of hwy driving) I should be good. I'd rather have the power than navigation etc..I'm with you

Someone mentioned both cars go the same speed. This is a good point. You can easily speed with the 250. I would imagine your speeding tickets were because of going over a speed limit, not how fast you got there. So trouble can happen with either car. If money is no object, I'd take the 350 and call it a day.

I loved driving my 6 speed manual IS250 when I had it. But if you are looking for an automatic, the IS350 would be nicer

Anytime man! I've gotten 2 tickets in my life. Once in 1989 when I was 16 going 60 in a 25 mph zone in a slow a** automatic mr2. Then I got a ticket in a rent a car back in 1997 going 70 in a 55 mph zone (speed trap going down hill). What I've learned is never be the lead car, that will always get you in trouble and it's okay to accelerate as fast as you can up to or around the speed limit.....I have owned an "arrest me red" MR2 turbo with around 325hp at the flywheel for 20 years and have never gotten a ticket in that car. I guess I'm getting old and drive like a Grandpa :O)

Carls makes a good point about the 6 speed manual.....If I had to do it again, I would get the manual tranny IS250 instead of the 350 as the manual tranny cars are more fun to me, but if you don't care for manual tranny cars then the 350 is for you.

A person can get speeding tickets in a "Smart"-car so performance is not the reason for that. After the 335, I am not sure any of the baby Lexus cars will be a good choice for you.

Everyone has different reasons for choosing to purchase a 250 or 350. You need to determine the weights of the different factors you're considering. Power (HP), cost (both to purchase the vehicle and to insure it), purpose (will it be a DD or a weekend car?) etc. Once you figure out how important these things are to you and have test driven both vehicles, you'll be better able to make your decision.

I own a 250, but if I were in a different situation, I would have purchased a 350. Whichever you decide to purchase, welcome to CL!

If I were you I would get an early 90s Festiva or equivalent and drive the speed limit for 3 years.
