Default issue with the car wash?

Hey yall whats up? Ok heres what happened to me. I go and get my car washed. Then I parked it came back and saw little white things on the front of my car. Im thinking o well its just dust I went to wipe it off and it turned out to be scratches in the car. They were little circular spots where the paint had chipped off. And I also saw a couple scratches on the top of my car. Well I hadnt noticed this before the carwash so I thought well maybe the car wash did it. I went back and they said it was just rocks from the highway and the top of my roof was just a scratch from where bird poop sat too long. Well im not driving on freaking cobblestone roads and there were a good 12-15 random chips in the paint. So I guess my question is would normal wear and tear cause these chips on my hood and some on my roof. My car only has about 8000 miles on it too. Im thinking about going to a lexus dealership and see waht they think. So what do yall think? O and ill put some pics up later I dont have my camera.

If you went to an automatic (brush) car wash, then there's no way they're going to do anything about it. You can be sure that there was crap stuck to the brushes that scratched your paint.

Think about it this way: If the car(s) before you were filthy, there's no telling what the car wash picked up and then used on your paint.

Posts like this are why I'm WAY to picky to ever bring my car to an automated car wash. Car washing is a DIY thing if you truly care about what your car looks like long term.

Default maybe the ones on the hood...

... at 22k miles, i have a lot of little chips on my bumper and front of hood, only one on the roof - i think that was from a big rock. i doubt you put all of them there, im sure the car wash may have had something to do with it. really tough to say though. i dont know how even a touch carwash could cause chips to appear - scratches yes, but chips???

more kinda blurrd but theres like a 12 or so of these on my hood. The second picture is the one big scratch on my roof that the guy says was bird poop. I park my car in a garage and if I ever saw bird poop in such an obvious spot id be damned to let it sit on my new IS. And funny thing my plastic bumper looks like it has less ware than my hood right now.

I wash my car myself and yes it is possible to have rock chips all over this vehicle... not saying that the carwash didn't get you, just that is is possible.

I guess it is because of the shape of the car but I have them on the roof and over the rear wheels in the flat spot behind the rear doors.
