Default How Much Has Your IS Cost To Maintain?

Hello All,
I'm just an enthusiast as of now, but I was curious how well the 2nd gen Lexus IS has stood up to wear and tear. Curious if people have had to make several trips to the dealership to have repairs made to anything post purchase. Basically....

1 recall (seatbelts), 1 TSB (nav system problem), both of which were free. Other than that, just scheduled maintenance, which I've done myself.

Cool

Had my car since Feb 06 and only had the free oil change done at 5k. Tires are still fine at 8,600 miles. Got free new brake pads last month thanks to the TSB...I highly recommend changing those out...brake dust free and lovin' it. Had a freak think happen with a rock going through my grill...that was $107....which I didn't pay for because I had credit on my Lexus credit card for using it to pay for part of the car. So far so good.

Does the IS 250 AWD have TSB or only the IS350?

My IS only has about 1,109 miles on it, and the only service I went to was the 30 day service, which was free.

So $0 spent so far .

There's a 30 day service? Never knew.

Personally, I've only spent about $150-200 for my 10K and 15K mile service.

There's a 30 days service which is really the 5k service. You can use either one, I dont' think you can use both for free

And thanks for the info jonsta

No one here in CL answered if both were free, so I had to check it out for myself .

And...both the 30 day service and the 5,000 mile service are free .

The 30 day service is for the Lexus personalized settings, which is free, as most people know.

So it's not really a maintenance service...it's more like a free complimentary service.

Default just the oil changes....

...and the recalls (FREE). i usually dont get the oil changed at lexus. I got the last one there as I had the seatbelt recall at the same time. It was $50, which is actually less than the other cars as they don't rotate your tires - which is apparently another 30-50 bucks! they wanted $100 a pop for services on my ES - went to local mechanic.

anyway, i digress...22k miles, nothing yet. why would you spend anything anyway? its all under warranty till 45k. the trans fluid is good for 50k i believe, by that time my lease will be up and i'll have a new one .

I had an issue with my moonroof when the car was a week old and they finally ended up fixing it for free. I just spent $250 on the 15K service but aside from that, lovely car zero problems.
