Default Where are TPMS sensor located?

I just bought 2 replacement rims and was wondering where is the tpms located? How can I tell if the car is equipped with this option? And is it possible to mount wheels with non tpms sensor? TIA!

the sensors are on your valve stems inside the tire. All 2IS's have it.

You can drive w/o the sensors but in a few days the check system light will come on. People have made DIY pressure containers and just tossed the tpms sensors in there.. but don't try and cross the mexican border w/ it. they'll think you'll bomb tijuana.

Ok, so the oem rims I just bought does not look like they have the sensor on them. Can I take the sensor off the cracked rim and swap them over?

If you are swapping them to OEM rims, they should be just fine.

I like the indirect sensors in my Mercedes. The rims do not rerquire TPMS sensors. I can swap the rims to any wheels I want and still warn me of low tire pressure.

Here's what they look like. Hope this helps.

Thanks flip, I'll make sure to look for that when I take the tire off the cracked rim.
