Which bolts did you tighten first?
I had the same results with my Greddy, but then I did it over and bolted the Cat part (1) up first and then I did the muffler(2).

Also make sure you hold the exhaust up to make it easier. Don't let it hang while you bolt it up.

Mine sits perfect, the shop did the rear bolts first, then the second bolts, then hung everything. It sat fine. I would get a hold of Tanabe if they dont sit right after you play with them. who knows, maybe something went bad with the manufacturing, it happens to every company. a very good possiblitity but who knows.
