i just wanna know how it's holding up. i talked to someone and they said that vinyl on an IS taillight, since it's so multi-faceted, would not last long. anyone had theirs for 6 months+ care to report?

I bought the rvinyl red-outs and installed them myself. They have been for 7 months so far no problems. I don't do automatic carwashes or anything like that though.

I believe Aerotect does not use vinyl per Francisco. They use a "PVC" (according to Francisco) material for smoked tails. I'm totally happy with it. They have different shades of tint. I highly recommend Aero Tect.

How dark is the lightest tint? I don't want it too dark (my car is silver) since the cops here will pull me over for having them tinted.

Depends on what you're having done. Joonsta paid $110 for tails alone but u'll get a discount if u have more stuff done. I had partial hood/fender/bumper/headlight and tails done so my tails alone came up cheaper.

Not too dark. It's almost cherry red where u could still see the red shade of your tails. The reverse light came up bluish in color if that will help. My LA sheriff friend said I shouldn't worry about it coz it's not too dark at all.

I have the aerotech red outs. They installed them and one is peeling up a little after 7 months, but its only a tiny bit and you can't really tell so i don't worry about it.
