Default How to properly remove engine bay cover clips?

So i tried and it seems to be impossible.

Can someone tell me how to remove those dozen or more clips?

you push in the middle part down and then pull up the overall clip up. once the clip is out, you need to pull/push the middle part back up from the overall clip so you could put it back into the hole and then push the middle pin flush to secure it.

Yeh i saw the illustrations but couldnt put a finger on it as to push the center down.

But now i can't seem to 'released' the down position so i can insert it back in.

There is a long claw and three short ones holding the center piece, doesnt seem to do nothing when i tried to release the grip?

you have to kind of pry the claws outward so you could push the center pin back up, then you can insert it back in. After a few tries, you'll get the hang of it.

Just curious... do the 2007 ISx50s have new/different clips? I recently saw a 2007 IS and the clips were different from mine (the ones in the pics above)...

Yes, there are new clips for the 2007 models. If you go to your dealer to buy replacement clips, you'll get the new ones. I'm not sure which ones I like better - the new ones are better clips, but are a pain in the a$$ to remove...
