Moonroof Tint

I just got a IS350 and was talking to a local tint installer who refused to install tint on the sunroof because, in his words:
"the sunroof cannot be tinted. There is a safety issue. If the sunroof gets with with a small rock, or anything while driving, it will make the sunroof shatter. The reason for that is that the side windows have a rubber surround which allows them to expand, however the sunroof is in a metal frame, and it causes the glass to bow out. This creates an additional stress on the sunroof, and any little hit will cause it to explode. Even if you don't choose to take advantage of our quality tint, and lifetime warranty on the installation, I strongly suggest you do not have the sunroof tinted, as it creates a great risk to anyone driving the vehicle."
This was the first I have heard about this. Google tells a mixed story. Any opinions on this forum?

The tint manufacturers claim (in the case of side windows at least) the tint film is a safety plus to prevent broken glass entering car upon breakage. Seems the same would be true for the sunroof.

I have tinted all of my moonroofs in all of my cars in the past 15 years and the story is bull. I put 20% on my moonroof so i can drive all day with the screen open and enjoy the extra light it brings inside.

And for the record, I had the moonroof on my G35 tinted 40% with Huper Optik. I just got the IS and I plan on taking the same route, though probably darker to match the black paint.

I would think the sunroof in the metal frame would have a rubber seal gasket type thing in between.
Plus how much does glass REALLY expand to where that rubber would not allow enough room?
And doesn't sunroof glass have to be tempered to the degree that the windshield is?
My T roof slipped out of my hands and although I tried to save it, it landed on the dirt and all it did was get dusty. (Thank goodness)
