That's unfortunate.
I hope the Civic fits your function. In fact, a couple of people have traded in their 2IS for Civics (because of cost, maintenance, and function).
Keep us informed with your progress. Although you may not have your Lexus anymore, you can still provide valuable information regarding your new car.
Cheers and Good Luck!

it's always a smart thing to do when you spend less money on cars - since they're a depreciating asset. Also good for you to realise and admit your financial situation - as long as you're happy with the civic that's all that matters.
Hopefully in the future when the time is right for you you'll get back into the IS family!
Cheers.

I could afford the payments, I could afford the damage, etc. But when you shell out the bucks, I want an amazing driving expierence. The 2IS is the car for that. I loved the feel, the interior, everything from the annoying placement of the gas tank button to the awesome light that lit up my drink.
But when a car starts twisting your stomach when you see a (yet another) scratch that is gonna cost u a leg for the smokey granite mica paint.....its time to say hey, just gimme a regular daily driver that i can drive into the ground.
Hey...at least I didnt get a Cobalt or something. Then you should hate me! LOL

This is why you should be extremely selective about where you park and what roads you drive on (maybe that's a little easier in AZ). Yes, it feels a little like having OCD, but other than a few minor marks on my wheels - my car is in perfect condition and well worth the extra hassle!

I had four major dings on the car from various problems. The alignment was out yet again. I had 2 new tires put in since two were ripped up by a pothole, and the brake pads wore out in like 15k miles (Lexus replaced them for free). But, I just felt the aggrivation outweighed the car.
And there's nothing wrong owning a honda civic, a very reliable car. If you think a civic is good for your everyday driving (and you dont need all that luxury stuff from the IS), definitely go with that!
Maybe down the road you will come back to the IS family!
Good luck and keep us posted your new civic experience!

naa this guy bought a car he couldn't afford from the get go......and when you do that, the car better be perfect, but as soon as something came up he couldn't justify the payments so he wussed out and went low and cheap with a civic. He's masquerading his financial problems behind the smokescreen of lexus problems...if this were not true, ask him why he finds this post useful to those of us who are happy with their lexus is's. If he is telling the truth then this post should be in a honda forum not a lexus forum....!
