No more Lexus for me...
Well, after a good long week of thinking it over. I traded my Lexus in for a Honda Civic. I had a very, very bad run of luck with the car combined with city driving conditions. It made the payments no longer bearable for stress' sake.
I had four major dings on the car from various problems. The alignment was out yet again. I had 2 new tires put in since two were ripped up by a pothole, and the brake pads wore out in like 15k miles (Lexus replaced them for free). But, I just felt the aggrivation outweighed the car.
Good news is despite all the body work, they gave me 3k over my loan payoff for the trade. That with a couple K down brought me 10k less of debt and half a car payment. Im pumped.
What can you do with just cruddy luck. Bye bye IS250.

It seems like the only real "problem" it has is the quick wear on the brakes. Hitting potholes, replacing tires and messing up the alignment were a result of poor city maintenance.

Sorry for all the problems you had with your IS.
Which Civic did you get??
I love the new Civic SI 4 door. That thing is pretty sweet for what you get. I recently saw a black one with black wheels a red lip. Looked nice.

thank you for visiting the clublexus forum. the exit is down the hall and to your right; don't forget to take your personal baggage... erm... i mean... BELONGINGS... with you.
j/k.
i have thought about opting out of my 2is and jumping into something a little bit more affordable, but i'd be doing myself a disservice if i did that. to each, his own. enjoy your civic, and maybe somewhere down the road we'll see you back on clublexus.

I drive a IS350 and it is a Toyota!!! What is wrong with owning a Honda???
They make great reliable cars if you didn't know. The only 2 makers I would touch for import cars are either Toyota or Honda.
Congrats on your new Civic and hope you will have better luck with this new car. I love how the new coupe looks.

Sorry it didn't work out for you. Nothing wrong with a Civic for a daily driver. I use a 89 Civic with 120K miles on it as my daily driver myself when I'm not riding my moped to work. My wife takes the LS400 to work herself. You also can't argue with $10K less debt and cutting your car payment in half.
