my car was $39,171

It had the HID, Navi, Wood Trim, All Weather Mats, Truck Mat.

I paid $36,000.

If I were you, I'd have murdered the mangers =P

I would never let them take advantage of me like that and get away with it.

They'll have to either bite their tongues off or fix the situation on the spot IMMEDIATELY

I wouldn't even bother corporate unless the dealer fought back and wouldn't meet my demands.

I hope you get it settled to your satisfaction.

No matter what the Lexus dealer apologists say you got ripped off - the reasonable person would assume that ordering Parking Assist would get you the OEM, full featured Parking Assist option. Only enthusiasts run around going Intuitive Parking Assist, the common person walking into a Lexus dealership who orders Parking Assist expects to get just that, the full OEM Parking Assist package.

BTW, caveat emptor is such a basic concept - and its overridden by various state statutes, not to mention fraud and other remedies that exist. Its a cheap fallback position when your ripping someone off and you want to get away with it.

My only word of advice is to work on this in an expedited manner, do not waive any return clauses or other protections your state may offer when buying a new car.

Not to make you fell worst, but that is a joke. This is another reason why I don't take my car to the dealer for anything.

I have the part numbers at home, but the prices are ridiculous. They are like $200 per sensor

I'm sorry but LOL, I can't believe they had the ***** to pull something like that on you! Let them fix it and report the dealership to corporate, stuff like this should NOT be tolerated.

u should get some sorta compensation for not getting what you wanted. you're still out the parking assist feature. for some people, that would be a deal breaker.

^^^ Let's think about this for a second, do you really want something from a dealer that just tried to pull a fast one on you ?!?!? I'd run/drive as fast and far away from that dealer as you can, and take your business elsewhere. Just remember to be candid and factual when the Lexus survey comes in the mail . . .

My suggestion:

Take a few personal days off work and go down to the dealership and make a hub bub to the manager in front of other customers. Usually this gets car dealerships to do something to get you to shut up.

Also, be sure to park your car right in front so people can see it and don't leave until they agree to one of the following:

1) A new bumper and to remove the system.
2) Refit the parking lights and have the sensors swapped for the proper color.
3) A check for XYZ dollars so you can have a 3rd party shop refit and paint the sensors. The middle section may or may not be able to be painted but I'm sure the housing can.

Good luck.

You bought a NEW car and you should be HAPPY. You shouldn't be on here trying to convince yourself that you can live with some hack job the dealership did on your car.

From what I read - the whole time both you and the sales person referenced the Park Assist feature on the lexus.com site, not the "aftermarket-park-assist-with-crappy-nipples-for-sensors.com" site.
