Exclamation paid ca$h or finance your lexus?

ok, i'm in the stage of buying a new car...so far, e-loan and my credit union have given me 9-10% rate(freaking outrageous)...they say i have "OK" credit.....5 months ago, capital one gave me 6.25% and now, the decline...since i got approved at capital 1, i have not done anything to hurt my credit..no big purchase..no additional debt..nothing changes on my credit report...so weird.....i asked them why, they say just wait 'til the letter arrive and pull ur credit report.

so, what kind of rate u get and which bank? last time i check my credit score is 680....i guess this is consider "OK" by the lender.

Rates are always changing. And now with the sub-prime housing fiasco it may affect all loans to some extent. I got 6% from Lexus financial last August for a 36 month loan with credit score in the high 700's (once you get over 700-720 it really doesn't make any difference on the rate). That was about 1/4% higher than e-Loan and Capital One at the time. Convenience of going through Lexus won me over. It was only a few bucks a month more. Find out what's up with your Credit Score and make sure it hasn't dropped for some reason. And shop around. Do you have access through a Credit Union? They usually have good rates.

Good APR. Man precentages all suck now though! My last car was an 03 accord and I got that damn loan at 1.9%!!! Now Im forced to think 6% is a decent deal. Terrible.

I put $25K down, my credit score was 73X something and I got 7.45% from Toyota, which was outrageous in May of '06.

I took it anyway as I got $4K off MSRP when many were still paying close to MSRP and I paid the car off in 8 months. I got a quote from e-loan for just under 6% and the same from my bank so the delta in total interest was just over $100 for those 8 months.

I put down $17000 and financed the rest. My credit score was in the 750s but I still wound up with a 6.4% rate. I'm looking at $440 a month.

Times have changed. My mom bought her RX330 back in '04 and she financed it thru Lexus Financial at an interest rate of 3.85%

From what I saw last weekend when I was shopping rates, you'll be lucky to get anything below 6%

I'll finance as long as I can invest money at a higher rate than the interest I'm paying, which is almost always the case. (And I bet it is for most people on this board, too.)
