Default Importing a Lexus IS220 from the UK Q: on CETANE level

I got the thumbs up from the government for the import of this Diesel right hand drive Lexus. My question is in regards to fuel, I have been reading about the Cetane levels for the disel (equiv. of OCTANTE in gas) Reading up on the Car the use a low sulfer 47-48 CETANE level, can anyone tell me if i would be ok with a 45 ultra low sulfer diesel at my local pumps in Toronto.

Cheers

Why???? I get an IS220D as a loaner when my 250SE Auto goes in for a service I am not impressed with it - plus fuel economy is only about 20% better than mine.

Who is going to service this car? I doubt they have the parts or expertise in NA.

Lexus doesn't offer the diesel version in the states, because there are no taxes on petrol like in Europe.

Also, the diesel versions of the 3 series BMW's are the best luxury cars by FAR, so Lexus offered the diesel IS to compete.

Anyways, I hope the OP has fun driving from the right side of the car.

And that's right as in direction .

It's offered in the UK and Europe. It's a 175bhp 4 cylinder motor developing 295 lbft of torque. The same engine is used in the Toyota Avensis and Auris.
The reason it's been successful in the UK is because company car taxation is based on CO2 emissions and therefore the diesel attracts less financial penalties and drivers lose less of their monthly salary if they opt for one.
