Importing a Lexus IS220 from the UK Q: on CETANE level
I got the thumbs up from the government for the import of this Diesel right hand drive Lexus. My question is in regards to fuel, I have been reading about the Cetane levels for the disel (equiv. of OCTANTE in gas) Reading up on the Car the use a low sulfer 47-48 CETANE level, can anyone tell me if i would be ok with a 45 ultra low sulfer diesel at my local pumps in Toronto.

Why???? I get an IS220D as a loaner when my 250SE Auto goes in for a service I am not impressed with it - plus fuel economy is only about 20% better than mine.
IS220d offer in UK only as I know, and it's been selling quite a while in there and quite well in the UK market as well! As I remember we have one member own a 220d

It's offered in the UK and Europe. It's a 175bhp 4 cylinder motor developing 295 lbft of torque. The same engine is used in the Toyota Avensis and Auris.
The reason it's been successful in the UK is because company car taxation is based on CO2 emissions and therefore the diesel attracts less financial penalties and drivers lose less of their monthly salary if they opt for one.
