Anyone negotiating on 350s??
So, I've done some hardball negotiating in Dallas and they are not willing to budge one penny below $1,000 off list. They say they can sell the 350s for list right now but because I was referred by a friend who works for the dealership, they are giving me a deal. They also say that because supply is so extremely limited, no dealership in the region is negotiation on the 350s (I'm in the process of verifying that).
What I am curious to know - is any region negotiating on these? I have no problem purchasing my car out of state and driving it back if I can get a good deal on it. Here is what this dealership is offering:
IS 350
FT Package (18" wheels)
HL Package (HID Headlamps)
NV Package (Navigation)
PT Package (Premium Package)
LR Package (Rear Lip Spoiler)
Z1 Package (Accessory Package)
MSRP = $42,407
Bottom Line Price: $41,498
Personally, I'm not willing to pay more than 8% over invoice on a car. That would mean I'd have to get a bottom line price of $39,573 (I'm including the dealer holdback in their invoice cost).
Anyone know a region where I could dream of getting a deal like that - or somewhat close to it??

Supply and demand thats the key my friend! There are people ordering and waiting months for the package/color that they want, if your Lexus dealership has the 350 on the lot that you want, its probably best to grit your teeth and make the leap on buying it. That price seems to me with all the options you are getting to be on the mark. Here in Massachusetts 350's are not rare, but rather scarce, not enough for the amount of buyers. Look for a preowned IS350. I got a great deal on my IS250AWD. It had 5K miles on it and it was preowned certified which has the 6yr/100k warrenty. and i got it for $27,000, the original sticker was $37,489. The sales man also said it was going for so cheap because of the "ugly" color, IMO its the only color i'd want. Good luck with your purchase.

I just tried the same thing two weeks ago with both Lexus dealerships in Dallas. Like yourself, neither were willing to budge much below $1000 off. I worked with a dealer in Denver and they were willing to give me $2000 off but then they were charging me $700 for shipping so it was basically the same deal.
350's are really hard to find right now. Especially if you are looking for a specific color combination.
I wasn't willing to wait another 4 months for a special order (I had already waited 4 months just for my order to be rejected) so I thought about it and ended up going with a 250.

Like Relexin said, the 350s are pretty hard to come by, so if a dealership has the exact color and options you want... you might have to grit your teeth and go for it. With my experience, I looked all over California for a specific color and interior along with ML and it was nearly impossible, but one dealership managed to get one delivered to them so I jumped on it.
MSRP for it was $45,177 and I walked out paying $44,929 after taxes. So it doesn't hurt to either wait a little bit or just keep looking around the state for a good price and seeing if the one closest to you will match it.

If that is a Glacier Frost/Black car @ Sewell Lexus of Dallas, they were giving me that car for $40,000. I turned it down because Park Place @ Grapevine is giving me over $4,000 off msrp for essentially the same car, but that is through a corporate discount.

ramshaklez...
that is a joke for a price...
especially when I think on the deal that I decided to say "No" to and
it was for a 2007 GS450h (Brand New) MSRP of $66,842.00++ and I
had "matched" deals from three Southern California Dealers for
$62,983.00 OTD- that is basically $2K Below Invoice on a High Demand
low volume car plus all three dealers agreed to give me the 10,000 Mile
Service for FREE.
So when I see a dealer going down $1K off MSRP... I just LAUGH...
