$39,500k are you serious?? When you buy new and sell within months of owning it you are going to take a BIG hit on depreciation.

Looks like you are going to keep the car afterall.

Why are you selling it????

Ahhh, so you dont have an x-package per say... you have a regular IS350, with x-package stuff.

Thank goodness. I would be bitter if you could order an x-package in starfire.

In any case, $39500... is way too high. How much did you pay for your car? My car cost 40K brand new, and I have 18s+Nav+ML+HIDs

For a IS350 with all the stuff I have. It will cost you about $42,000 + fees. In Calfornia, that is about $4,000. Like you guys said, I am the only Starfire with x-pkg stuff. The car looks GREAT right?

You can NEVER try and recoup taxes etc... in a sale.

That is a fixed cost that ONLY gets passed onto the first person to buy the car.

Just because you paid $42 plus fees, doesn't make your car a $46k car. The car is a 42 k car that now has one owner and 4k miles. The second you drove off the lot your car depreciated by thousands. Its a simple fact.

Just to give you a point of reference. My car's sticker was $45k NOT including any taxes etc..(i don't know what the previous owner boughtit for).

I bought it with just over 10k miles on it for $37k in perfect condition.

I have every single option minus the pre collision system. That is $8000 in depreciation in 6 months.

Depreciation is the price you pay for buying a BRAND new car. Its a well known fact.

Its a beautiful car... but the problem is when you buy new, you pay the taxes and fees to the government. Thats money lost. You cannot add that to the cost of the car. The person that buys your car will probably have to pay those same fees

I cant see everything thats on it, But I would guess the car would cost brand new(though not in starfire)

36420(Car + Dest)
1455(Xpackage, includes 18s)
200(Perferred accessory package)

Thats about 38K New at Full MSRP for the same car(How did you get 42K?). I would suspect your car is worth 31-33K or less, depending on how much dealers negotiate in your area.

If they are selling closer to invoice, then I would think you can only get like 31K.

i would have offered them 29,000 for there car and said lets do the deal.

did you drive the BMW? curious to see what you thought. that is what i wanted but they wouldnt move on the car at all and they had none in the area. so i know the owners of the Lexus dealer and they gave me a really good deal on both sides. i didnt trade but they took my leased S4, 18 mos old and found a dealer to buy it for 38k??? i had close to 40 k miles on it and was like no way!!! that saved me so much in overage in miles. they then had to flat bed my car from another IL dealer. i lucked out with everything. i would still like to get this car. i want to give the IS to my wife and get something a little more sporty...

Everything except ML/Nav? What about Luxury package? Sport package? Intuitive Park Assist? Pre-Crash System? Premium Package? Headlight Cleaners?

It appears that your car actually has nothing except HID's, unless they were added on by you.

Sure, the car looks great but it's a base model, stripped down version of the 350, not loaded, like you say it is.

And WHY exactly are you selling it? I think you have been asked this question about 20 times and have yet to answer it...

My cousin from San Diego was offered $37K for an '06 with 12k mi IS350 with lux/ML/Nav/Sport/18" wheels/HID - you name it. All options. I know it's an '06 with 12k mi but that car alone took an $8-9k depreciation. Once you drive that car off the delearship you lose $$$$ as much as 10-25%.
