Im gonna end this discussion right now, my youner brother owns a S2000 & I own a IS350, not once has he beat me, either in the Quarter mile, straight away, on some curvy roads @ the blue hills here in Mass, or @ top speed straight out pushin it!!! Even trying 2 creap off on me he hasnt won & the boy can drive!! So no the S2000 will not take an IS350, & if it happens I have 2 see it 2 believe it!!! Oh & 2 my brother since I know you be on C L forums, sorry for putting you on blast on C L
I owned an S2000 before my IS350, and spent many weekends on the track with my S2000. There ain't NO WAY the IS350 could keep up to an S2000 on a track if driven well.
On the drag strip, the S2000 would have to be turbo'ed to beat the IS350. I don't think an SC'ed S2000 would even do it. The SC'ed S2000s make great peak power, but their low end torque sucks *****. I haven't heard of an NA or SC'ed S2000 doing any better than 13.6 @ 100, but I recently did 13.09 @ 105 in my IS350.

It's hard to compare the two seeing i haven't driven the is350 (none over here) but on paper i recon the s2000 takes it. You just can't help but admire the power:weight ratio. I'd say s2000 on the track for sure...

i've raced an s2k on the freeway from a 60mph roll if i remember correctly.. i started pulling about 1 car length to 90 when i shut it down.. i'm sure straight on, IS350>S2K.. track wise through twisties, S2K>IS350...

For the last time the gen3 does NOT have a more efficient head. It has a slightly more aggressive intake cam, but the head itself wont flow more.
I get sick of seeing this posted. ChrisK laid this myth to rest before. He flowtested them both and the gen2 outflows a gen3 in every category.

with a name with MR_F i'm guessing you had a mr2 or have one .. if you do or did you should also know ChrisK.
Also like i said before stock to stock.. no it won't work.. but on a 2nd gen engine with the toyota ct20b with supporting mods people have taken it under 13seconds... so what are you talkin bout ... i'm really confused....
let's take the worst case... non stock mr2 strocker with 800rwhp can't take out a 300 crank hp right>>> is this what you're trying to tell me.... i think i stated it clear .. stock to stock know, but anyknow who knows bout 3sgte engine.. there's a nice fact.. toyota designed 'em very conservatively... stock boost is 7~8psi... people run 15psi daily w/o issues (yes there are rare case) and with stock everything around it...
i've worked with 2 x 3sgte engines... i've done my own head gasket on mr2 engine..
can't we just end the mr2 thing....

The best posted time for the IS in a magazine was 13.6 I believe.... The best time on a stock IS posted by forum members is much better. I don't think a stock MR2 of any year can beat a stock IS350 in the 1/4. Weather the IS wins by a tenth or a second it still wins.

ROFL
make that two of us
2)Didn't know that, nor do I know Chris
3)Sorry to hear about your work situation

Glad to hear that there are people getting as low as 13.4 stock with the IS. Didn't know that. It would seem then that the IS would take it to the MR on the strip by a couple of tenths.
