this is what i was told when i got my car tinted..... the back window has the antenna for the radio built in... so there are only certain types of tint that can be placed on our cars so the signal wont get messed up..... correct me if im wrong.... sharkfin is for XM radio only

If you look closely to the back window, the rear defroster is not connected to the upper part of the window. That is because the upper part is your antenna and the shark fin is integrated to that window to boost reception. That's the info I got from the dealer when I purchased my car. It's been advised by many ISx50 owners, including myself, not to install metallic tint to the rear window because it will interfere with radio reception. Quick fix will be to replace it with a non metallic film.

can i ask you a question. i was trying to get my XM to work right and the owner manuel told me to hold the AM/SAT button and should bring up something like CHxxxx. the i should change it to Ch0000 to get the code to register for XM radio. for some reason this didnt work. Do i have to go to the dealer to get something installed. I mean since the Sharkfin is for Xm then why do we mhave get something installed when they said the sharkfin was for XM radio.

Okay, so whats the the shark fin for? I thought even the ones with no nav had the shark fin, so it its not for the radio and the non nav ones have it whats left?

You just haven't activated it yet.
